The Singapore Art Museum at Bras Basah
Road is housed in a beautifully restored school building (the
former St. Joseph's Institution). The museum has 13 galleries
and is home to the national art collection of Singapore. Since
its opening in 1996 the museum's permanent collection has
grown from under 2000 art works to over 4000, making it the
largest collection of 20th -century Southeast Asian art in
the region.
Open:10am - 7pm(Mon - Sun), 10am - 9pm (Extended
opening hours on Friday only)
Admission: SGD 3 adults, SGD 1.50 children (6 -
16 years) and seniors
SGD 8 Family ticket (max 5 members)
Prices may change where there are special exhibitions.
Free admission on late nights every Friday 6pm to 9pm.
Guided Tours: Tours in English at 11am and 2pm (Tue
to Fri) with additional tours at 2pm on Monday and at 3.30pm
on Sat and Sun.
Tours in Japanese at 10.30am (Tue to Fri). Tours in Mandarin
at 2.30pm (Sat and every 1st Sunday of the month).
